WHO IS STIGLINGH MEMORIAL BURSARY?

The Stiglingh Memorial Bursary was initiated by a former PSA member, Mr JH Stiglingh since 1993 to students who wish to continue studies in Medicine or Natural Sciences fields. The PSA bursary gets awarded every year to public servants and/or PSA members and their dependent children, who are either PSA employees or PSA members for a minimum of twelve months before the closing date of the year of the bursary applied for.

The Stiglingh Memorial Bursary pays out up to a maximum of R10 000, base on funds availability.

BURSARY DESCRIPTION 

The PSA annually awards study bursaries to public servants and/or PSA members and their dependant children, who have been employed in the Public Service or have been a PSA member for at least twelve months on the closing date of the year in which a bursary is applied for.

Bursaries are awarded in respect of undergraduate or post-graduate studies part-time or full-time in Natural Sciences or Medicine, or for research on Natural Sciences or Medicine at a recognised South African University or abroad after successful completion of the first study year course or research project.

The number of bursaries is determined annually according to available funds and the number of qualifying applicants. Preference will, howerver, be given to PSA members and their dependant children.

BURSARY COVER

The bursary covers a minimum of R3 000 per applicant to a maximum of R10 000 depending on availability of funds. 

BURSARIES AVAILABLE 

The Stiglingh Memorial Bursary is offered for various fields of qualifications. Applicants must be accepted to study at accredited institutions of higher learning in South Africa. 

ELIGIBILITY 

  • Applicants must be South African citizen 
  • Applicants must have a National Senior Certificate 
  • Applicants must be accepted to study at accredited institution of higher learning in South Africa

Applicant must submit certified copies of academic record
Applicants must, where applicable, submit the necessary proof of membership of the PSA together with the application
