WHO IS WESTERN CAPE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT?
The Department of Transport and Public Works is responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads, educational and health facilities, and general buildings. It also increases growth and job opportunities through various programmes and increases access to safe and efficient transport.
BURSARY DESCRIPTION
The bursaries are offered on a work-back basis. In other words, you will have to work for the public service for every year of the bursary. During your studies you will also need to:
- Attend workshops, learning events and meetings organized by the Centre.
- Undertake academic vacation placements at sites determined by the Centre.
- Participate in service learning and / or volunteer programmes organized by the Centre.

BURSARIES AVAILABLE
The bursaries are offered for study towards a degree or higher diploma in the following disciplines:
- Architecture
- Construction Management
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Quantity Surveying
- Town and Regional Planning
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicants must be South African citizen.
- Applicants must be accepted at an acredited tertiary institution in the Eastern Cape.
- Applicants must complete in full the Bursary Application Form
- Applicants must have excellent academic records
- Applicants must be previously disadvantaged
