BURSARIES AVAILABLE

Starke Ayres is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2022 academic year. The bursary is aimed at students entering their 2nd or later year of study, towards a BSc Plant Breeding degree qualification.

Each year, Starke Ayres awards bursaries to students pursuing studies within the agricultural industry, with the aim of attracting exceptional students, who are talented and passionate about agriculture.

Starke Ayres bursaries are made also available to students pursuing these study fields:

• BSc Genetics

ELIGIBILITY 

• Applicant must be a South African citizen
• Applicant must have completed Matric
• Applicant must be studying full-time towards a Plant Breeding (BSc) degree qualification
• Applicant must have completed your 1st year of study
• Applicant must be entering your 2nd or later year of study, in 2022
• Applicant must be studying at a recognised University in South Africa
• Applicant must have a strong academic record

WHO IS HENSOLDT?

BURSARY DESCRIPTION 

Hensoldt bursaries are made available awarded to full-time students at an accredited South African University towards a degree. Bursaries are awarded for a BTech or a BEng/BSc Degree. Candidates applying to the University of Technology can only apply for BTech bursaries.

CITY OF EKURHULENI BURSARIES SOUTH AFRICA 2022-2023

WHO IS CITY OF EKURHULENI?

The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is a Category A municipality covers an extensive area from Germiston in the west to Springs and Nigel in the east. The former administrations of the nine towns in the former East Rand were amalgamated into the metropolitan municipality, along with the Khayalami Metropolitan Council and the Eastern Gauteng Services Council. It is one of the most densely populated areas in the province, and the country.

The economy in the region is larger and more diverse than that of many small countries in Africa. It accounts for nearly a quarter of Gauteng's economy, which in turn contributes over a third of the national Gross Domestic Product. Many of the factories for production of goods and commodities are located in Ekurhuleni, often referred to as ‘Africa's Workshop'.

The network of roads, airports, rail lines, telephones, electricity grids and telecommunications found in Ekurhuleni rials that of Europe and America. It can be regarded as the transportation hub of the country. It is home to OR Tambo International Airport; South Africa's largest railway hub; a number of South Africa's modern freeways and expressways; the Maputo Corridor Development; direct rail, road and air links connecting Ekurhuleni to Durban; the Blue IQ projects, with linkages to the City Deep Container terminal; the planned Gautrain rapid rail link to Johannesburg and Pretoria; and the OR Tambo International Airport Industrial Development Zone (IDZ).

AfriSam Bursary South Africa 2022

WHO IS AFRISAM?

Since establishing its first cement plant in 1934, the company has grown into a formidable group with operations in South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini.

Our name, AfriSam, stems from the word ‘Afri’, which refers to our proud African heritage and ‘Sam’ comes from the word samente or disamente, which means cement in six of South Africa’s official languages.

AFRISAM BURSARY DESCRIPTION

Afrisam Bursaries are provided mostly for 2nd-year students. They also prefer candidates who are studying at the University of Technology. Their fields are quite limited to those within their processes of business. Their bursaries provide financial aid to talented candidates who are in need.

Thus, if you are a full-time student within one of the following fields and you meet all set stipulation, you may apply when they have bursaries available.

ABOUT SAPPI BURSARIES

Sappi offers full financial sponsorship to selected individuals. These individuals need to apply formally to the HR-department for a bursary wherefrom, based on academic and phsycometric testing results, individuals would be selected and fully supported with all study related costs.

Furthering your studies can amount into a costly account. But students must not be perturbed with costs as the costs must be viewed as a lucrative investment in your future which projects good returns, both in financial security as well as personal fulfilment.

A year of full-time studies including accommodation, meals and pocket money can amount to R50 000 per year at the above institutions. A more detailed breakdown of the costs can be attained from the Universities.

SAPPI bursary scheme is intended to cater for talented, high flyers and innovative young South African citizens.

It is a talent-based approached where applicants who meet the minimum criteria may be invited to a selection interview.

ELIGIBILITY 

If you are a school leaver or university student between 18 and 25 years old, and are studying (or intending to study) full time at any South African accredited university, you could be eligible for the SAPPI bursary scheme.

• Applicants must be South African citizens
• Applicants must have an average of 70-80% in Mathematics (not Maths Literacy), 70-80% in Physical Science, and 60% in English.
• Applicants must have qualifying points for entrance at the university, or acceptance for admission at the university.
• Current university results will be considered for undergraduate students. 

Note that preference will be given to learners with an average of 75% and above in Mathematics and Physical Science.
