AfriSam Bursary South Africa 2022

WHO IS AFRISAM?

Since establishing its first cement plant in 1934, the company has grown into a formidable group with operations in South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini.


Our name, AfriSam, stems from the word ‘Afri’, which refers to our proud African heritage and ‘Sam’ comes from the word samente or disamente, which means cement in six of South Africa’s official languages.

AFRISAM BURSARY DESCRIPTION


Afrisam Bursaries are provided mostly for 2nd-year students. They also prefer candidates who are studying at the University of Technology. Their fields are quite limited to those within their processes of business. Their bursaries provide financial aid to talented candidates who are in need.

Thus, if you are a full-time student within one of the following fields and you meet all set stipulation, you may apply when they have bursaries available.

BURSARY COVERS 

Funds will be made available for the full duration of the student’s course, subject to the student passing all registered courses. The bursary will cover the following:

  • Registration fees
  • Tuition fees
  • Examination fees
  • Cost of compulsory prescribed books
  • Residence fees

AFRISAM BURSARIES AVAILABLE 


The bursary scheme will fund undergraduate studies in the following fields:
  • Mining
  • Engineering
  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Chemical
  • Industrial
  • BSC Chemistry
  • Geology
  • Civil
  • Accounting
  • Human Resource 
  • Supply Chain
  • Logistics
  • Other technical qualifications

ELIGIBILITY

  • Applicants must be South African citizen 
  • Applicants must have excellent academic records
  • Applicants must be willing to work for AfriSam if needed
  • Applicant must be willing to relocate

HOW TO APPLY?

Applicants who meet all of the criteria, may apply by submitting clear copies of the following documentation:

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Most recent academic results (certified copy)
  • Curriculum Vitae

Note: there is no application form to be completed for this bursary application – students need only submit the list of above documents to apply.

SAPPI BURSARIES SOUTH AFRICA 2022-2023

WHO IS SAPPI?

ABOUT SAPPI BURSARIES


Sappi offers full financial sponsorship to selected individuals. These individuals need to apply formally to the HR-department for a bursary wherefrom, based on academic and phsycometric testing results, individuals would be selected and fully supported with all study related costs.

Furthering your studies can amount into a costly account. But students must not be perturbed with costs as the costs must be viewed as a lucrative investment in your future which projects good returns, both in financial security as well as personal fulfilment.

A year of full-time studies including accommodation, meals and pocket money can amount to R50 000 per year at the above institutions. A more detailed breakdown of the costs can be attained from the Universities.

SAPPI bursary scheme is intended to cater for talented, high flyers and innovative young South African citizens.

It is a talent-based approached where applicants who meet the minimum criteria may be invited to a selection interview.

  • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science - Electrical Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science - Chemical Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science - Industrial Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science - Civil Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science - Mechatronics
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science - Forestry and Wood Sciences
  • National Diploma - Pulp and Paper
  • National Diploma in Forestry.

ELIGIBILITY 

If you are a school leaver or university student between 18 and 25 years old, and are studying (or intending to study) full time at any South African accredited university, you could be eligible for the SAPPI bursary scheme.

  • Applicants must be South African citizens
  • Applicants must have an average of 70-80% in Mathematics (not Maths Literacy), 70-80% in Physical Science, and 60% in English.
  • Applicants must have qualifying points for entrance at the university, or acceptance for admission at the university.
  • Current university results will be considered for undergraduate students. 

Note that preference will be given to learners with an average of 75% and above in Mathematics and Physical Science.
